Unidad Didáctica: Experimentación Europea

Lesson plan: european experimentation is a space of reflection and creation articulated by the photographer Julián Barón and carried out by Photographic Social Vision’s Education Department at Arts Santa Mònica’s Espai Lab. This four-hour workshop is aimed at groups of young people and adolescents who wish to experiment, reflect and tell us in images how they feel about the European Union from their point of view.

The results of this collective experience were part of the exhibition Myths of the near future, curated by Natasha Christia, which closed the DOCfield festival> 16 at Arts Santa Mònica (from July 19 to September 11) in the form of an installation. The exposed piece was created from a dialogue that Julián Barón established between the histories and representations of Europe developed by the participants of the workshop and his own work.

The first stage of work with the participants took place at Arts Santa Mònica’s Espai Lab from 26 to 31 May 2016 in four-hour sessions that were organised into three modules (M1: Location, space and ubiquity; M2: Time, history and memory; and M3: Collective processes) that included four exercises.

Vernissage July 19, 2016. Center of Art Santa Mònica, Barcelona.
